Myrna Biacolo, a 56-year-old Filipina working in Kuwait, was found unconscious inside her shower on Saturday. Her coworkers, alarmed after she failed to respond to calls, went to her residence and found her unresponsive and naked inside the shower. She was immediately rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries the following morning.
Medical reports confirmed that Biacolo suffered severe head trauma, believed to have been caused by a slip in the shower, leading to a fatal impact with a solid structure. Authorities are investigating the incident.
Biacolo had been employed at a local salon for the past six years. Her sudden death has sent shockwaves through her colleagues and clients. The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) of the Philippine Embassy has been notified, and arrangements for the repatriation of her remains are underway.
Her family in the Philippines has been informed and is awaiting further instructions from authorities. The MWO has also taken the opportunity to remind OFWs to remain vigilant about their safety, especially in their living spaces. Simple precautions are essential to ensure personal safety to prevent similar tragedies.
