Kuwait steps up security readiness amid regional developments

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Fahd Al-Yousef, has stressed the need for full coordination among state institutions to ensure rapid response capabilities and immediate action in the event of any emergency, as regional tensions continue to evolve.
Al-Yousef chaired a high-level meeting with Ministry of Interior leaders to review the operational readiness of security sectors, attended by the ministry’s Undersecretary, Major General Abdul Wahab Al-Wahib.
The discussions focused on strengthening preparedness measures and enhancing the country’s ability to respond to potential developments, reports Al-Jarida daily.
During the meeting, the minister directed security leaders to maintain continuous field presence and closely monitor the situation around the clock.
He ordered the reinforcement of security patrols and tighter protection of vital installations, key facilities and essential services to preserve stability and public safety across the country.
He confirmed that security agencies remain fully prepared to receive emergency reports through hotline 112 and to respond with maximum efficiency.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior urged citizens and residents to rely solely on official and verified sources for information, warning against the spread of rumors that could undermine community security.
The ministry emphasized that all state sectors are working in full coordination to safeguard national security and maintain public reassurance.
Separately, Al-Yousef affirmed that a comprehensive and carefully structured national emergency plan is currently being implemented by relevant authorities in light of ongoing regional developments.
He also revealed that continuous coordination meetings are being chaired by the prime minister to oversee implementation of the national response plan, with each minister carrying out responsibilities within their respective portfolios.
