The Sultanate of Oman announced that the commercial port of Duqm was targeted by two drones, resulting in the injury to an expatriate worker.
According to an official statement, one of the drones struck a mobile workers’ accommodation unit, causing injuries to a worker who received medical attention. The debris from the second drone fell near fuel storage tanks, but no human casualties or material damage were reported.
Omani authorities strongly condemned the incident and affirmed that all necessary measures are being taken to address any threats that may endanger the safety of the country and its residents, reports Al-Rai daily.
Officials emphasized their continued vigilance to ensure security and protect vital facilities across the Sultanate.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned what it described as a “brutal Iranian attack” targeting the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, calling it a blatant violation of Omani sovereignty.
In an official statement, the Kingdom expressed its full solidarity with Oman and affirmed its support for all measures taken to safeguard the country’s security and stability.
Saudi Arabia also stressed that it stands ready to place all its capabilities at Oman’s disposal to confront any threats affecting its safety.
The Kingdom warned of the consequences of continued violations of state sovereignty, noting that such actions undermine regional security and stability.
It further called on the international community to adopt firm positions and take decisive measures in response to what it described as repeated Iranian violations.
