Prosecution urges responsible information sharing, warns against rumors

. . . amid regional developments

The Public Prosecution has affirmed that freedom of expression remains protected within its constitutional framework, stressing that it must be exercised responsibly and in a manner that respects the truth and does not contribute to the spread of rumors or unverified information.

In a statement, the Public Prosecution said it is closely monitoring news reports, analyses, and audio-visual materials circulating across certain media platforms and social media channels in light of ongoing regional developments.

It noted that while it recognizes the sensitivity of the current stage and the rapid flow of information accompanied by differing narratives, the dissemination of news under such circumstances requires a heightened level of verification and responsibility, reports Al-Rai daily.

The authority emphasized that relying on official and approved sources remains the most reliable way to obtain accurate information, warning that the circulation of inaccurate or unconfirmed news could cause public concern, disturb social stability, and spread panic among members of society.

The statement underscored the importance of responsible communication to preserve public tranquility during the current period.
