
News agencies reported on Saturday that several airstrikes targeting Tehran struck areas near the presidential palace and the compound of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
One outlet reported that seven missiles hit locations in the vicinity of these strategic sites.
The Iranian Fars News Agency confirmed that “seven missile strikes hit the Kashurdoust and Pasteur districts of Tehran.”
Earlier, the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) reported visible smoke rising from the Pasteur district in the city center, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Pasteur neighborhood is considered both strategic and symbolic, as it houses the offices of the Supreme Leader and the Iranian presidential palace.
Officials have confirmed that President Masoud Pezeshkian is safe following the attacks.
