CID personnel take into custody suspect for possessing arm and ammunition
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety and combat illegal activities, the security authorities Thursday evening took into custody an unidentified person for possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
In a statement, the Interior Ministry said the arrest was carried out by personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department following intensive monitoring, search operations, and investigations targeting lawbreakers, reports Al-Rai daily.
Authorities said after suspect was identified, the security authorities got a warrant from the Prosecution and searched the suspect’s residence, and found on the premises an unlicensed firearm and a quantity of ammunition, seized the contraband and referred the man for further interrogation.
