
Iranian authorities announced on Saturday that an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck the city of Rudbaneh in Gilan province, northern Iran, without causing any casualties or material damage.
The Tehran University Seismological Center stated in a press release that “an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck the city of Rudbaneh at 8:39 a.m. local time at a depth of 20 kilometers.”
The statement added that residents of areas surrounding Rudbaneh also felt the earthquake strongly, but no reports of casualties or material damage have been received so far.
