Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Mohammad Totonji, marked his country’s 47th National Day by emphasizing the legacy of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, its impact on Iranian society, and Iran’s continued support for oppressed peoples, particularly Palestinians.
Speaking at the embassy’s celebration, Totonji stated that the commemoration “evokes the role of Imam Khomeini in reviving the nation, his keenness to unite the Islamic world and reject division and sectarian strife, and his support for the oppressed, especially the Palestinian people who are suffering from barbaric aggression and hateful racism.”

He highlighted the revolution’s transformative effect on women’s participation in society. “The revolution established the status of women as a vital and active element in society, providing them with broad opportunities in scientific, cultural, and sports fields.
“Today, female university students account for more than half of the total student population, and women hold positions in decision-making centers, parliament, and city and village councils,” Totonji said.
The ambassador also addressed regional conflicts, asserting that Iran responded to what he described as “Zionist-American aggressions” during the twelve-day war, noting that the actions of Iran “retaliated in kind” and ended in failure for its adversaries.
Totonji further criticized attempts by external powers to exploit domestic protests in Iran, which he characterized as aimed at improving economic conditions.

According to the ambassador, foreign-backed agents sought to incite violence, target government buildings, hospitals, and religious centers, and provoke chaos. He added that millions of Iranian citizens mobilized in peaceful opposition, preventing the spread of disorder and thwarting such attempts.
The ambassador’s remarks were delivered in the context of celebrating 47 years of the Islamic Republic, reinforcing the country’s stance on social progress, regional issues, and the resilience of its people in the face of internal and external challenges.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat, affirmed that Kuwait’s relationship with Iran is rooted in mutual respect and appreciation, describing the Islamic Republic as a “great Muslim neighbor” with which Kuwait shares long-standing historical ties.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Iranian Embassy’s celebration of Iran’s 47th National Day, Hayat conveyed the congratulations of Kuwait’s Supreme Political Leadership to the Iranian Ambassador, as well as to the government and the people of Iran.
He noted that bilateral relations continue to grow across multiple sectors, with a shared commitment to further develop them in the current and coming phases. Hayat highlighted the potential for high-level visits between the two countries during the year.
Emphasizing Kuwait’s diplomatic priorities, Hayat stressed the importance of consolidating regional peace, promoting constructive dialogue, and giving diplomacy sufficient space to prevent conflict. He underlined the role of collective dialogue linking regional countries with Iran as a way to strengthen stability.
Kuwait and Iran maintain joint committees that meet alternately in Kuwait and Tehran, discussing technical, economic, trade, consular, and coast guard cooperation.
According to Hayat, these meetings have produced positive results benefiting both nations, with continued consultations through diplomatic channels.
