January 26, 1950 was a date etched into many textbooks, marking India’s Republic Day, the day it formally adopted its Constitution, bringing a new era of law and order to the world’s largest democracy, fuelled by its recent independence.

India was a new, young country just taking its first steps, embarking on a new journey. This was a major change and a historic moment for India, as it began shaping its own rules and building its own democratic future for all its citizens.

It was a date that marked and acknowledged the struggles of countless Indians and their sacrifices for a new India, a young India, a country not bound by the shackles of its colonial past, but one ready to move forward with freedom, justice, and plenty of hope for each and every citizen.

Today’s India is spearheading the growth and development, recently became 4th largest economy in the world and eying the top position with the unwavering support & faith of its Democratic values, people and visionary Leadership.

India’s economic space prowess is accepted by world, setting future goals for itself. With ‘Make in India’ motto, Modern India is aiming to become biggest manufacturing hub in the world.

Believing in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (meaning world is one family), India’s efforts are towards the same belief. India known as ‘Pharmacy of the World’ proved it’s thinking by delivering 163 million doses of Anti-Covid Vaccines and essential medicines to 160 countries. In return for the good will gesture, Nations acknowledged and reciprocated the support.

Republic Day is not just celebrated for the parades, flag hoisting or speeches, it symbolizes the most important ideology of a democratic India, rule by the people, rule for the people and rule of the people. It is a day that is commemorated to remind the citizens about not only their civil rights, but their civil duties alike. Most importantly, it celebrates the day the people were transformed from the status of subjects to that of citizens.

India is not just shaped by the majority, but by the majority working hand in hand with the minority, building a new future together. 26 January 2026 marks the 77th anniversary of India formally adopting its Constitution.

Interestingly the Importance of 77’ is very high. ‘7’ in Hindi is pronounced similar to ‘Saath’ meaning together. ‘77’ pronounced to ‘Saath Saath’ leads to the interpretation to ‘We all are together’. Building a great nation together.

It is a day to remember the past, appreciate the present, and move forward together with enthusiasm.
