79 properties worth 61 mln dinars traded in Kuwait in first week of 2026
Private homes lead as residential sector tops weekly trades
Kuwait’s real estate market recorded 79 property transactions worth approximately 61 million dinars during the first week of 2026, according to statistics released on Tuesday by the Real Estate Registration and Documentation Department at the Ministry of Justice.
The figures, published on the ministry’s website, cover the period from January 4 to 8 and show that private residential properties topped the list with 56 contracts valued at 19.6 million dinars.
Investment properties ranked second, with 18 contracts worth 19.8 million dinars, while commercial properties saw four contracts valued at 20.9 million dinars. In addition, one craft property was traded during the week, with a value of 814,000 dinars.
Geographical Distribution
In the Capital Governorate, the week saw the trading of 11 private residential contracts, two investment contracts and one commercial contract.
The Hawalli Governorate recorded the highest activity, with 20 private contracts, six investment contracts and one commercial contract.
In Farwaniya, there were four private contracts and one investment contract, while Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate witnessed the trading of five private contracts and two investment contracts.
The statistics also showed that Al-Ahmadi Governorate recorded eight private contracts, six investment contracts and two commercial contracts, while Al-Jahra Governorate saw eight private contracts and one investment contract.\
The data reflects continued activity in Kuwait’s real estate market at the start of the new year, with private residential properties remaining the most traded segment.
