Security authorities detain ‘group’ for circulating video clip online deemed offensive

The Farwaniya Governorate Criminal Investigation Department, in coordination with the Cybercrime Control Department, has identified and tracked a social media account that published a video clip deemed to be in violation of public morals.

The circulated footage showed a gathering of several Indians inside a camp in Al-Mutlaa, engaging in conduct and practices considered inappropriate and inconsistent with prevailing social values.

The video included acts described as a clear breach of the laws and regulations in force in the country, reports Al-Rai daily.

Following investigative procedures, security authorities were able to identify and arrest the owner of the account.

During interrogation, he admitted to owning the account and confirmed that the individuals appearing in the video were present with him at the time of filming and publishing the clip.

Further investigations led to the arrest of all individuals featured in the video. Legal measures were taken against them, and the case was referred to the competent authorities to complete the required procedures in accordance with the law.
