Ministry of Interior shuts down unlicensed water operating bottling plant
Plant’s operators referred to Public Prosecution

The Ministry of Interior announced that the General Department of Criminal Investigation, through the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Investigation Department, conducted a raid on an unlicensed water bottling plant.
The investigation revealed that the plant’s operators had broken official seals and continued operations without a valid license, prompting the authorities to close the facility once again.
According to the Ministry, the raid followed an earlier inspection by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, which had sealed the plant on December 11, 2025.
However, on December 28, it was discovered that the operators had removed the seals and official labels and resumed production, reports Al-Anba daily.
In an official statement yesterday, the Ministry said the operators were summoned and confronted with the evidence. They admitted to tampering with the seals and running the plant at night outside official working hours to avoid detection.
Those involved have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action. Additionally, the employees registered with the company have been apprehended, and legal proceedings are ongoing against them under relevant laws and regulations. Ownership of the plant has been revoked.
The Ministry emphasized that the Criminal Security Sector will continue to monitor and control violations rigorously, and that any activity threatening public health or contravening the law will not be tolerated.
