Bedoun caught with 770 Lyrica pills

Personnel from the Jahra Security Directorate have arrested an illegal resident (bedoun) for trafficking in drugs.
The suspect was found in possession of 770 Lyrica pills. The arrest comes one week after implementing Kuwait’s new drug law, which carries severe penalties, including life imprisonment and the death penalty for traffickers.
The arrest took place in the Al-Qasr area. The suspect was initially stopped for committing a traffic violation.
The suspect who is believed to be in his thirties, appeared sober but a precautionary search of the vehicle uncovered the pills.
He has been referred to the General Department for Drug Control.
