United Kingdom Ambassador, H.E. Qudsi Rasheed, recently paid a visit to the offices of The Times Kuwait, where he was warmly received by Editor-in-Chief Tareq Yousef Al-Shumaimry and Executive Managing Editor Reaven D’Souza.
The meeting featured wide-ranging discussions on the evolving dynamics of UK–Kuwait relations and importance of media cooperation. Ambassador Rasheed also underscored the United Kingdom’s technological leadership, particularly in the rapidly advancing field of artificial intelligence, and reflected on its far-reaching implications in an increasingly fast-changing global environment.

Discussions also touched upon Kuwait’s legal framework and the deep-rooted historical ties shared by the two nations, which span several centuries and continue to shape their strong bilateral relationship.
During the visit, Ambassador Rasheed was briefed on The Times Kuwait’s role within the country’s media landscape, particularly its efforts in shaping public perception, enhancing dialogue, and amplifying voices that promote unity among Kuwait’s diverse expatriate and Kuwaiti communities. The ambassador was also introduced to the Arabic online portal, alwaqtnews, a new initiative launched by The Times Kuwait as part of its outreach program to a wider audience.

The visit highlighted Ambassador Rasheed’s commitment to engaging with media institutions and his keen interest in further strengthening bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Kuwait during his tenure in the country.
