Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, conducted a field visit to the Addiction Rehabilitation Center project, located in the Sulaibiya Youth Center building, accompanied by Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs and Projects, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Nahham. The visit aimed to follow up on project implementation phases and review the latest developments on the ground.
The project, established under Article 3 of Decree Law No. 159 of 2025 and Ministerial Decision 301 of 2025, designates the Sulaibiya Youth Center building as a specialized facility for the rehabilitation and treatment of addiction patients, forming part of an integrated national system for treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention.

During the visit, Dr. Al-Awadhi was briefed on the center’s various facilities, including therapeutic, rehabilitative, and service departments, as well as the general operational plan.
The engineering team provided detailed updates on current construction phases, completion rates, technical challenges, and measures to ensure adherence to approved timelines and high-quality standards.
The minister stressed the importance of accelerating project completion, overcoming obstacles, and enhancing coordination among all parties to ensure the center becomes fully operational as soon as possible.

Dr. Al-Awadhi emphasized that the center reflects the directives of the political leadership and represents a practical application of national legislation, providing specialized therapeutic and rehabilitation services to support sustainable recovery, protect individuals and society, and enhance health and social security.
The Addiction Rehabilitation Center will feature comprehensive facilities, including treatment and residential buildings, central medical laboratories, nutrition and support services, rehabilitation, health and sports facilities such as a swimming pool and playgrounds, a theater, administrative and security buildings, and reception and service areas.
The center aims to provide integrated medical, psychological, behavioral, and social care within a modern, holistic treatment system.
