Sabah Al-Ahmad Center achieves top rankings at International Robotex competition

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), announced that its teams secured fifth and seventh places in the finals of the prestigious Robotex International Competition, held recently in Estonia.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the center said the participation followed an intensive period of training and preparation, enabling its students to represent Kuwait with distinction and achieve advanced global rankings.

Among the most notable results was seventh place worldwide in the Sumo competition for the under-14 category, reflecting the high level of skill and technical competence demonstrated by the students.

The Falcon Team, comprising Lulwa Al-Muhamid and Abdullah Al-Wasmi, achieved fifth place globally in the drone competition. Meanwhile, the Sword Team, which includes Saud Al-Khanna and Abdulwahab Al-Salal, secured seventh place worldwide out of 98 competing teams, while also topping their third group in the under-14 Sumo category.

Additional achievements included the Al Dana Team, made up of Aseel Al-Wasmi and Amna Abdullah, which placed 14th in the under-14 line-following competition, and the Kafu Team, consisting of Saud Al-Khaldi and Mohammed Al-Mutairi, which achieved 17th place in the same category.

The center expressed pride in the students’ outstanding performance, noting that the results reflect the quality of training programs and the commitment to nurturing national talent. It reaffirmed its dedication to developing young innovators and enhancing their skills in robotics and advanced technologies.

The center also emphasized the importance of investing in young minds to build an innovative generation capable of competing globally and representing Kuwait with excellence on international platforms.
