TEF Kuwait marks 26 years with grand musical gala featuring K.S. Chitra

Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF), Kuwait, added a glittering milestone to its cultural legacy by hosting the grand musical evening ‘Harmonic Horizons – A Festive Musical Gala’, headlined by legendary playback singer and Padma Bhushan awardee Smt. K.S. Chitra.
Held at the DPS Auditorium in Kuwait, the event witnessed an overwhelming turnout from the Tamil diaspora and music lovers, turning the evening into a vibrant celebration of music, culture and community spirit.

Organized as part of TEF Kuwait’s 26 Years of Excellence celebrations, the gala reflected the forum’s long-standing commitment to nurturing not only professional excellence but also cultural enrichment and strong bonds among expatriate Tamils in Kuwait.
The program began on a traditional and solemn note with the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, setting a culturally reverent atmosphere. A rendition of the Thirukkural and a Safety Moment followed, highlighting TEF’s emphasis on values, social responsibility and community awareness.

In his welcome address, Joint Treasurer Eng. Justine warmly greeted the audience and outlined the significance of the evening. One of the early highlights was the presentation of the Scholastic Achievers Awards, honoring students from TEF families for their academic excellence. The initiative underscored TEF’s sustained focus on education, youth encouragement and future leadership.
The formal segment continued with the presentation of the TEF 2025 year-end report by General Secretary Eng. Balasubramanian, who outlined the forum’s key initiatives, achievements and milestones over the past year.
This was followed by the financial report delivered by Treasurer Eng. Arun Golden, offering transparency and insight into TEF’s financial management.

In his address, Raja, President of TEF Kuwait, reflected on the forum’s inspiring journey, its core values and its forward-looking vision aimed at sustained growth and service to the community.
The evening also featured the felicitation of the TEF 2025 Committee, recognizing the dedication and tireless efforts of the outgoing office bearers. This was followed by the TEF 2026 Committee Takeover Ceremony, symbolizing a smooth and well-organized leadership transition.
The auditorium came alive with the start of the much-awaited musical extravaganza “Harmonic Horizons”, ceremonially inaugurated with the handover of the stage to the orchestra. The highlight of the evening was the spellbinding performance by K.S. Chitra, whose timeless and emotive voice held the audience enthralled throughout the concert.
Accompanied by a stellar ensemble of acclaimed singers Nishad, Amruta, Roopa and Sathya Prakash, along with a full orchestra, the artistes delivered a captivating repertoire that seamlessly blended classical masterpieces with contemporary Tamil film melodies. The performance took the audience on an evocative musical journey, drawing resounding applause and standing ovations.
In recognition of their outstanding performances, the TEF committee presented mementos to all the artistes, expressing heartfelt appreciation for their contribution to the success of the gala.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Eng. Subramanian, who conveyed sincere gratitude to the artistes, sponsors, volunteers, organizing committee members and the audience for their enthusiastic support. A lavish dinner followed, bringing the memorable evening to a warm and satisfying close.
