‘Education’ suspends classes on Thursday, Dec 11, 2025, for student safety
The Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday that all studies will be suspended tomorrow, Thursday, December 11, 2025, across all government and private schools, in every educational system and stage.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, Engineer Hamad Al-Hamad, confirmed tomorrow, (December 11, 2025,) will be a holiday for students only across all educational stages.
Al-Hamad clarified that while students will not attend classes, all school staff — including teachers and administrative employees—will continue their duties as usual without interruption.
The Ministry of Education announced that the decision to suspend classes came on the directive of Minister of Education Engineer Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, after reviewing weather reports from the Meteorological Department indicating expected rainfall.
The suspension applies to all government schools at every level, including general, religious, and special education, as well as private schools following Arabic and foreign curricula.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that all practical examinations scheduled for Thursday will be postponed. School administrations have been instructed to set new dates, ensuring that students’ interests are safeguarded and that the educational process continues smoothly.
The Ministry stressed that the safety and well-being of students, educators, and all personnel in the education sector remain a top priority. It urged the public to follow official ministry channels for any further updates.
As part of the decision, the Ministry confirmed that all practical exams scheduled for Thursday will be postponed.
School administrations have been instructed to determine alternative dates and communicate them directly to students and parents.
