Court of Cassation decides 1,775 appeals in November upon Amir’s directives
Kuwait and Algeria sign MoU to strengthen judicial cooperation and share expertise

The Supreme Judicial Council announced that the Court of Cassation, across all its departments, adjudicated 1,775 appeals during the month of November.
The decision comes as part of an ongoing plan aimed at reducing the accumulation of cases before the Court of Cassation while maintaining the quality and accuracy of judicial rulings.
The Council explained that the move aligns with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to accelerate the resolution of cases and uphold the rights of litigants.
The Court of Cassation reviewed and decided appeals that included judgments, advisory opinions, appeal reviews, and evening sessions.
Statistics released by the Court showed that 322 appeals were resolved during evening sessions, 486 during appeal-examination sessions, 790 in sessions of all circuits except the criminal courts, and 177 appeals in the criminal circuits.
In a related development, Counselor Dr. Adel Boursli, President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, signed a memorandum of understanding with Taher Mamouni, the First President of the Algerian Supreme Court.
The agreement aims to strengthen judicial cooperation between the two countries, promote the exchange of legal expertise, and benefit from shared experiences in the field of justice.
In a press statement, Counselor Boursli emphasized that Kuwait is continuing to implement comprehensive plans to digitize and modernize court services.
These plans focus on improving the speed and precision of judicial procedures, enhancing the performance of judicial bodies, and accelerating the handling of appeals through digital transformation and the integration of artificial intelligence.
