MOI arrests nine suspects, seizes narcotics in Ahmadi Governorate crackdown

The Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the arrest of nine suspects of various nationalities after security campaigns uncovered significant quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances in several targeted locations.
In a press statement, the ministry explained that coordinated operations carried out by the General Department for Drug Control and the Criminal Investigation Department in Al-Ahmadi Governorate resulted in the seizure of approximately 341 grams of crystal meth, 9,000 Lyrica tablets, and around 3,000 Captagon pills.
The ministry added that officers also found 6 kilograms of chemical substances, 3.25 kilograms of marijuana, 20 grams of heroin, 75 grams of hashish, and a rolled cigarette containing narcotic material.
Moreover, the authorities confiscated five cans of hashish oil used for electronic cigarettes, three precision scales used for weighing drugs, and 400 dinars believed to be from sale of drugs.
All suspects and confiscated materials were referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior affirmed it will continue its intensive security campaigns to combat drug trafficking networks and prevent the spread of narcotics and psychotropic substances throughout the country.
