Kuwait and Najran Consumer Associations Sign MoU to Boost Gulf Cooperation

The Consumer Protection Society in Kuwait signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday with the Consumer Protection Association in Najran, Saudi Arabia.
The signing took place as part of the International Forum for the Non-Profit Sector, which opened today in Riyadh with the participation of leading figures, policymakers, and international speakers.
Meshaal Al-Enezi, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Consumer Protection Society, stated that the agreement aligns with the association’s strategy to expand international and Gulf-level cooperation and launch joint initiatives that strengthen consumer awareness and achieve lasting societal impact, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Enezi explained that the memorandum aims to enhance Gulf cooperation in consumer protection, in line with modern efforts to support quality of life and promote informed consumer behavior.
He noted that the agreement includes organizing joint annual events that serve consumers and support public awareness. These activities will include the production of shared media content such as awareness segments, children’s programs, an awareness magazine, a Gulf-wide podcast, and short educational messages.
The memorandum also provides for linking digital platforms and exchanging content and awareness materials between both associations.
In addition, the agreement covers the creation of joint training programs, activation of a specialized training institute for workers and volunteers in consumer protection, and the exchange of expertise and consultations. It also supports the development of quality projects such as the “mystery consumer” initiative and the “Madmoun” platform, while transferring the successful experiences of the Kuwaiti association to Najran in line with local requirements.
Al-Enezi stressed that this partnership represents a significant step toward building a unified Gulf model for consumer protection, improving service quality, and developing initiatives that directly benefit consumers in both countries.
For his part, Nasser Al-Aniks, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Association in Najran, welcomed the cooperation and praised the role of the Kuwaiti association and its pioneering initiatives in the region.
