Kuwait hosts Saudi delegation to strengthen cooperation

The Directorate-General of Correctional Institutions in Kuwait received a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, led by Major General Dr. Fahd Al-Osaimi, Director General of Prisons in Saudi Arabia.
The visit aimed to reinforce joint cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise in correctional and rehabilitation operations.
The Kuwaiti delegation included Major General Hamed Al-Dawwas, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs; Brigadier General Dakheel Al-Dakheel, Head of the Special Security Affairs and Correctional Institutions Sector; and Brigadier General Osama Al-Majed, Acting Director General of the General Administration of Correctional Institutions.
The visit commenced at the Directorate General of Special Forces building with an extensive meeting reviewing development plans and modern programs in Kuwait’s correctional institutions sector.
The Saudi delegation then toured the Deportation and Detention Affairs Department, followed by the Prisons Security Department, where they learned about the electronic bracelet system which is being used to monitor individuals under supervisory orders.
The delegation continued its field visit at the Central Prison Administration, received a detailed briefing on the prison rehabilitation. This included insights into workshops for handicrafts and carpentry, as well as other vocational programs, in addition to the video communication system that allows inmates to connect with their families.
At the conclusion of the visit, commemorative shields were exchanged, highlighting the strength of fraternal relations between the two nations and underscoring their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and integration in the areas of security and correctional reform.
