Three men seized with narcotics

Personnel from the General Department of Narcotics Control foiled an attempt to pump about 11 kilograms of narcotic substances and 133 thousand narcotic pills into the local market.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, information was received by the police officers about three people possessing narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking. Accordingly, permission was obtained from the Public Prosecution and the three accused men were arrested following an ambush. According to Al-Anba daily police have seized from the men 6 kilos of shabu and hashish and 5 kilos of Lyrica powder and pills.

During interrogation the trio admitted to possessing narcotic drugs for the purpose of trafficking. The seized items have been referred to the Directorate-General for Drugs Control.
