Al-Yousef reaffirms Coast Guard readiness during visit to Kuwaiti cadets at UK Naval College

Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Yousef, Director General of the General Directorate of Coast Guard, conducted a field visit to Kuwaiti scholarship cadets training at the prestigious Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, Devon, as part of Kuwait’s efforts to strengthen its maritime security capabilities.

The Ministry of Interior said Monday that the visit reflects the leadership’s commitment to closely monitoring overseas qualification programs and ensuring that national cadres are trained to the highest international standards—an essential pillar in reinforcing Kuwait’s maritime defense readiness.

During his meeting with the cadets, Brigadier General Al-Yousef praised their dedication and discipline, affirming the Coast Guard Administration’s unwavering focus on advancing development plans and elevating the operational competence of its personnel. He emphasized that professional excellence in maritime security is central to safeguarding the nation’s territorial waters, reports Al-Rai daily.

He also underscored the importance of empowering women within the security sector, highlighting the leadership’s support for dispatching female officers abroad for specialized training and enabling their active integration into Kuwait’s maritime security operations.
