  • $7 trillion needed in next decade: new program aims to power the world’s AI revolution

Brookfield announced on Wednesday the launch of a landmark $100 billion global artificial intelligence infrastructure program, developed in partnership with NVIDIA and the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).

The initiative aims to accelerate major investments in the essential technological backbone powering electricity, computing, and data centers worldwide.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the program will be operated through Brookfield’s AI Infrastructure Fund (BAIIF), which is targeting $10 billion in equity commitments. The fund has already secured $5 billion from strategic partners, including Brookfield, NVIDIA, and KIA.

Brookfield stated that the fund’s capital—supplemented by co-investors and smart financing solutions—will support the acquisition of up to $100 billion in AI infrastructure assets, covering the full value chain: energy generation, land acquisition, data centers, and advanced computing systems, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Iskandar Rashid, Brookfield’s Head of AI Infrastructure, described the initiative as “one of the largest infrastructure undertakings in history,” comparing its scale to the creation of global electricity and telecommunications networks.

He added that the AI-driven transformation will require $7 trillion in investments over the next decade to meet soaring global demand for energy, computing power, and data centers.

NVIDIA’s founder and CEO Jensen Huang emphasized that “artificial intelligence has become a foundational technology for every nation and industry.”

He noted that the collaboration with Brookfield will deliver a rapidly deployable AI cloud based on NVIDIA’s DSX architecture, enabling fast expansion of next-generation applications.
