Kuwait committed to strengthening global cooperation against financial crimes: Al-Ibrahim
Conference focused on strengthening international cooperation, investigating corruption and money laundering, and addressing the environmental and economic impacts of corruption, including its influence on procurement and business growth.

The Chairman of the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha), Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim, affirmed that Kuwait’s participation in the INTERPOL Global Conference on Combating Corruption and Asset Recovery underscores the country’s firm commitment to supporting international efforts to reduce corruption, enhance transparency, and strengthen cross-border cooperation in addressing financial crimes.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday, following the conclusion of the three-day conference hosted by the United Arab Emirates, Al-Ibrahim said that the Nazaha delegation, led by him, held a series of meetings with international organizations, including INTERPOL and peer agencies focused on anti-corruption efforts.
These meetings aimed to bolster global partnerships, exchange expertise, and review the latest practices in preventing corruption and recovering illicit assets.
Al-Ibrahim explained that the conference produced several key recommendations, including the promotion of INTERPOL tools such as the “Silver Notice”, which supports cooperation in identifying and tracing assets linked to corruption cases.
The recommendations also emphasized the development of information-sharing mechanisms and participation in international networks that strengthen law enforcement efforts worldwide.
He added that the conference brought together a wide range of entities — including law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, financial intelligence units, and anti-corruption and asset recovery bodies — to exchange experiences and discuss the most pressing challenges and effective practices in combating corruption globally.
Al-Ibrahim noted that the conference also reviewed INTERPOL’s capabilities and digital tools that enhance international collaboration in asset recovery operations.
He emphasized that the event served as a vital platform for coordinating roles among anti-corruption authorities and financial institutions, while reinforcing the global fight against financial crime.
He reaffirmed Kuwait’s determination to maintain an active presence in such international gatherings, which provide opportunities to modernize operational frameworks, build effective partnerships, and highlight the country’s ongoing efforts to promote integrity and transparency.
