Public Prosecution sets three-month deadline for implementation of judicial rulings

Implementation of judgments is not a favor but a legal duty, reflecting respect for the constitution and the independence of the judiciary — the cornerstone of justice and the protection of rights.

The Public Prosecution announced that, in line with its mandate to uphold the rule of law and enforce judicial rulings, a new three-month period has been established for the implementation of final court judgments.

This follows Decree-Law No. (87) of 2025, which amends Article (58) bis of Law No. (31) of 1970 concerning the Penal Code.

The prosecution explained that this legal timeframe — starting from the date of the notice of implementation — provides sufficient opportunity for the concerned authorities to complete the necessary procedures to enforce court decisions.

In a statement, the Public Prosecution emphasized its full confidence in the commitment of all authorities, institutions, and individuals to respect and execute judicial rulings within the prescribed period.

It also warned that refusing or delaying implementation after the expiry of the legal timeframe constitutes a criminal offense, subject to accountability as stipulated by law, in order to protect the authority of judicial rulings and safeguard the rights of litigants.

Reaffirming its constitutional role, the prosecution stressed that it will take legal action against anyone proven to have deliberately refrained from or neglected the enforcement of final judgments after the deadline.

It called on all parties to act responsibly and diligently in executing court rulings, affirming that implementation of judgments is not a favor but a legal duty, reflecting respect for the constitution and the independence of the judiciary — the cornerstone of justice and the protection of rights.
