Kuwait reaffirms global commitment to fighting corruption and promoting integrity

The State of Kuwait has reaffirmed its firm commitment to strengthening international solidarity and multilateral partnerships in the global fight against corruption, expressing its readiness to continue close cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy and member states to achieve shared objectives of integrity, justice, and sustainable development.
Addressing the assembly in Vienna, Third Secretary Munira Al-Tayyar underscored Kuwait’s unwavering adherence to the principles of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and its continuous support for the Academy’s mission to promote transparency and strengthen institutional capacity-building at both national and international levels.
“Kuwait remains steadfast in advancing global efforts to prevent and combat corruption in all its forms,” Al-Tayyar said, highlighting the country’s proactive approach toward building a culture of accountability and ethical governance.
She emphasized that Kuwait has adopted a comprehensive national vision to promote integrity and good governance through the implementation of its National Anti-Corruption Strategy, overseen by the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha).
The strategy, she noted, is being executed in collaboration with various government agencies and civil society institutions, while also benefiting from the Academy’s specialized training programs.
Al-Tayyar called for the continued financial and technical support of the Academy to enable it to fully carry out its educational and research responsibilities, reinforcing its position as a global center of excellence in anti-corruption studies and capacity development.
Kuwait’s active participation in international anti-corruption forums, she added, reflects its deep-rooted belief that transparency, integrity, and the rule of law are essential pillars for achieving sustainable development and safeguarding public trust.
