Kuwait launches national AI Initiative for benefit of ministers, senior government officials

As part of the program, specialized workshops will be organized to introduce ministers and senior officials to the practical use of AI tools—demonstrating how Copilot can assist in performing daily tasks, decision-making, and workflow management.

As part of government vision for digital transformation and promote the culture of work efficiency through modern technologies, the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) has launched a national initiative under the title “Enabling the Use of Artificial Intelligence for Ministers and Senior Officials in Government Institutions.”

The initiative is being implemented in partnership with Microsoft Corporation under the framework of the strategic cooperation agreement between the two parties, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to informed sources, the initiative will be rolled out in two main phases — the first phase focuses on enabling ministers and senior officials in government entities to utilize modern AI tools within their daily work environments, including Microsoft’s intelligent Copilot applications, designed to boost productivity and streamline administrative tasks.

The second phase will establish the “Copilot Center of Excellence,” a dedicated training and development hub aimed at transferring technical expertise and expanding the adoption of AI technologies across various sectors of government.

The sources noted that Minister of State for Communications, Omar Al-Omar, has urged government agencies to cooperate fully with the initiative’s working group to expedite its implementation. He emphasized the importance of this step in supporting national talents and enhancing their ability to use advanced technologies efficiently.

Officials highlighted the need to maximize the benefits of this initiative, given its expected impact on improving government operations and elevating the quality of services provided to citizens and residents alike.

As part of the program, specialized workshops will be organized to introduce ministers and senior officials to the practical use of AI tools—demonstrating how Copilot can assist in performing daily tasks, decision-making, and workflow management.

The government, the sources added, remains committed to accelerating digital transformation and integrating cutting-edge AI technologies across official institutions to enhance efficiency, improve performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
