
India won its maiden Women’s ODI World Cup on Sunday after beating South Africa by 52 runs in the final of the 2025 edition at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
India is bursting with pride after the Women’s Cricket Team clinched their maiden ICC Women’s World Cup title on home soil. The historic victory which happened on November 2, 2025, at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium saw India defeat South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final.

Former cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, current sportspersons like Neeraj Chopra, and eminent personalities like Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to the Women in Blue’s title win.

The historic win was powered by stellar performances from Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma.
Deepti Sharma the off-spinner picked five wickets in the summit clash to take her tally in 2025 to 21 wickets, eclipsing the record of 20 held by Neetu David and Shubhangi Kulkarni.
