Statistics released by the Real Estate Registration and Documentation Department at the Ministry of Justice revealed that 137 real estate contracts were traded during the week of October 19 to 23, with a total value amounting to 80 million dinars.
The data showed that private real estate topped all categories, accounting for 93 properties with a combined value of 32.6 million dinars. This segment continues to dominate trading activity, driven by steady demand for residential properties across various governorates.
Investment real estate ranked second, with 36 properties changing hands at a total value of 32.4 million dinars, reflecting continued investor interest in income-generating assets. Meanwhile, commercial real estate witnessed six transactions valued at 14.8 million dinars, while two shop contracts were traded for a total of 660,000 dinars, reports Al-Ri daily.
In terms of geographical distribution, the statistics showed that the Capital Governorate recorded nine private, one investment, and three commercial real estate contracts. Hawalli Governorate followed with 19 private and eight investment transactions.
In Farwaniya Governorate, eight private and 11 investment properties were traded, while Mubarak Al-Kabeer recorded 19 private and two investment transactions. The Ahmadi Governorate led in activity with 28 private and 14 investment properties traded, underscoring its continued appeal for both residential and investment buyers.
Meanwhile, Jahra Governorate recorded 10 private real estate contracts, reflecting stable but modest activity in comparison to other regions.
The overall figures highlight ongoing momentum in Kuwait’s real estate sector, particularly in residential and investment properties, which together accounted for nearly 81 percent of total weekly trading value. The KD 80 million total underscores investor confidence in property as a secure and profitable asset class amid broader economic shifts.
