Kuwait introduces innovative topical treatment for chronic psoriasis
Announcement coincided with the launch of a strategic partnership between the Kuwait Dermatologists Association and a leading medical organization, aimed at promoting education, innovation, and research in dermatology both locally and regionally

The Kuwait Dermatologists Association has announced the introduction of a new topical treatment for chronic psoriasis, offering once-daily application, rapid absorption, and clinical improvement compared to conventional therapies. Psoriasis affects approximately 1–3 percent of Kuwait’s population, or around 67,000 patients, according to the association’s president, Dr. Atlal Al-Lafi.
The announcement coincided with the launch of a strategic partnership between the Kuwait Dermatologists Association and a leading medical organization, aimed at promoting education, innovation, and research in dermatology both locally and regionally, reports Al-Rai daily.
Dr. Al-Lafi highlighted that the partnership exemplifies integrated efforts between the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, supporting scientific research, medical information development, and awareness initiatives for both doctors and patients.
The initiative also seeks to foster Gulf-wide cooperation, enabling the exchange of scientific expertise among dermatologists in the region and enhancing professional communication across borders.
Dr. Abeer Al-Badhali, Secretary of the association, emphasized that the new treatment is among the most advanced globally, offering patients a significant improvement in quality of life and representing a qualitative addition to existing treatment options.
She noted that the availability of the treatment locally provides an opportunity to enhance treatment efficiency while also supporting continuing medical education for physicians.
The association expressed optimism that this initiative will expand access to cutting-edge dermatological care and strengthen Kuwait’s role as a hub for medical innovation in the region.
