Focusing on human resource development, Al-Gharib stated that the force conducted periodic medical examinations for all personnel, introduced a nomination process for supervisory positions to ensure qualified leadership, and implemented a drug control system, testing more than 600 members — around 28 percent of the total force. These initiatives, he said, reflect the organization’s commitment to professionalism and integrity.
Al-Gharib also reviewed the General Fire Force’s advancements in electronic services, including the launch of the smart license in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, the development of licensing systems for contractors and inspectors, and the digital approval process for firefighting equipment.
The KFF also strengthened interagency cooperation with the Kuwait Municipality and Ministry of Justice to streamline transactions and linked systems electronically with the Ministry of Health for sick leave verification and treatment registration abroad.
He noted that the force continues to expand its firefighting centers and upgrade its equipment, reinforcing its readiness and infrastructure. The overarching goal, he stressed, is institutional excellence through enhanced field preparedness, modernized digital systems, and a steadfast commitment to protecting lives and property throughout Kuwait.
In conclusion, Brig. Gen. Al-Gharib warned against renting unlicensed commercial premises, noting that tenants would be held liable. He also urged business owners to use only accredited companies for elevator construction and inspection. With camping season approaching, he cautioned the public against using burning coals inside tents, citing fatal incidents in past years, and announced that an awareness campaign on fire safety would be launched next month.
