The Embassy of Italy in Kuwait, in collaboration with the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP), inaugurated the captivating art exhibition “A Gaze Elsewhere: Visions from a Moving Memory”, featuring the works of acclaimed Italian artist Federico Fiorentini.
The event, held at CAP’s gallery in Shuwaikh, brought together diplomats, art enthusiasts, and members of Kuwait’s creative community to celebrate a remarkable evening of artistic expression and cultural exchange.
In his opening remarks, the Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait H.E. Lorenzo Morini warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, expressing his appreciation to the Contemporary Art Platform for hosting the exhibition and for its vital role in fostering art, culture, and creativity within Kuwait.

“It is a great pleasure to have you all here this evening,” the Ambassador said. “It is indeed a great privilege for the Italian Embassy to collaborate with such an important institution, one that plays a fundamental role in promoting art, culture, and creativity among the Kuwaiti public.”

The exhibition showcases Fiorentini’s distinctive vision, which blends architecture, industrial design, and emotional depth into thought-provoking compositions.
His works invite viewers to reimagine familiar landscapes and objects, offering a layered narrative that challenges perceptions and explores memory, movement, and modernity.

“Federico’s work is a testament to the power of art to question, reflect, and share human experience,” the Ambassador added. “In looking at his creations, we are drawn to the depth of his vision, admiring from a different perspective the very elements that are part of our daily lives.”
The evening concluded with the official opening of the exhibition, followed by a live jazz concert, creating an atmosphere of artistic harmony that celebrated both visual and musical creativity.

In closing, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the artist and his team, saying, “It is indeed a unique experience, and I want to express my gratitude to Federico for trusting us with his vision. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to my staff for their invaluable support.”
