Social assistance paid to 2,130 women whose citizenship was revoked under Article 8
Step taken upon directives of the political leadership and reflects the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that support reaches those truly deserving of it to strengthen social security and promote family stability across Kuwaiti society

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, announced the disbursement of social assistance for the months of September and October to 2,130 women whose citizenships were revoked and who were previously subject to the provisions of Article 8.
He confirmed the transfer procedures to local banks have been completed, and that the funds will be deposited into beneficiaries’ accounts in over the next few days days, following the amendment of their legal status and completion of all regulatory requirements.
In a press statement issued Wednesday, Al-Ajmi said this step comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership and reflects the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that support reaches those truly deserving of it.
He explained that the ministry has recently adopted a comprehensive plan to review beneficiary files in this category and to verify their seriousness in completing all required procedures.
Al-Ajmi pointed out that the disbursement of this payment crowns the ministry’s sustained efforts over recent months to regulate disbursement mechanisms and update data for beneficiaries previously covered by Article 8, whose status has since been amended and who are now treated as Kuwaiti women in social benefit programs.
He emphasized that the ministry is working to unify eligibility criteria and enhance transparency in the aid distribution process, in order to guarantee fairness and protect public funds, in line with the state’s commitment to an integrated social care approach.
Regarding cases whose citizenships were revoked under Article 5, Al-Ajmi revealed that legal procedures for this group are nearing completion, and that assistance will be disbursed soon after all necessary steps are finalized. He affirmed that the ministry is handling this matter with utmost seriousness to ensure justice, equality, and the safeguarding of public money.
Concluding his remarks, Al-Ajmi reiterated that the Ministry of Social Affairs continues to pursue a policy rooted in justice and transparency, ensuring that no eligible individual is excluded or discriminated against, including those whose citizenships were revoked under Articles 8 and 5.
