Foreign Ministry closely monitors case of three Kuwaiti hunters detained in Iraq

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that it is closely monitoring the circumstances surrounding the detention of three Kuwaiti citizens in Iraq.
Speaking to KUNA, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya said the ministry immediately contacted the Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad and the relevant Iraqi authorities upon learning of the incident to clarify details, ensure the safety of the citizens, and coordinate the necessary measures.
He stressed that the ministry will continue following the case until all facts are verified and the citizens can return to Kuwait as quickly as possible.
The ministry informed Al-Jarida that the three Kuwaitis were on a hunting trip in the Muthanna desert. Coordination with the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that initial investigations indicated the hunters had violated hunting regulations and laws governing the entry of foreign hunters and hunting activities in Iraq.
Legal measures were applied in accordance with the relevant regulations, and the individuals were referred to the competent authorities to complete the investigation.
