A Cameroonian-flagged oil tanker issued a distress call following an explosion on board approximately 60 nautical miles south of the Yemeni city of Ahwar, according to maritime security firm Ambrey.
The tanker’s crew reported their intention to abandon the vessel, prompting an ongoing search and rescue operation to ensure their safety, reports Al-Jarida daily.
