National Guard Undersecretary participates in FIEP meeting in France
The Undersecretary of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Hamad Al-Barjas, left Kuwait along with his accompanying delegation for the French Republic to participate in the meeting of the International Association of Gendarmeries and Police Forces with Military Status (FIEP), which is being held under the French presidency.
The conference, convened under the theme “The Impact and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence on Gendarmerie Forces,” will explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in the security and defense sectors. Discussions will focus on the importance of AI technologies, their potential applications in military operations, and the challenges they pose to law enforcement and public safety.
The participation of Kuwait’s National Guard in this international forum reflects its commitment to enhancing cooperation and knowledge exchange with global security institutions, particularly in fields related to modern technology, counterterrorism, and crisis management.
It is worth noting that in 2019, the Kuwait National Guard officially joined the International Federation of Police and Gendarmerie Forces, which includes both Arab and foreign member states. Membership in the organization has strengthened Kuwait’s partnerships in promoting security collaboration, developing specialized training, and sharing best practices in policing and defense strategies.
Lieutenant General Al-Barjas’s participation underscores Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to remain aligned with international advancements in security technology, particularly in adapting AI-based systems to enhance operational efficiency and readiness within military and security institutions.
