Kuwait wraps up Fourth GCC Police Shooting Championship with strong wins
Meticulous planning and coordination among Ministry of Interior sectors ensured that the tournament was held in a manner befitting Kuwait’s reputation and the professionalism of its police force

The fourth edition of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Police Shooting Championship concluded on Tuesday in Kuwait, marking the end of a successful two-day event hosted by Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior and organized by the Kuwait Police Sports Federation.
The tournament brought together elite shooters representing the police federations of the Gulf states, who competed across multiple categories showcasing precision, skill, and teamwork.
In the Men’s Individual Shooting – Operational IPSC category, Kuwait’s First Sergeant Ali Abdullah secured first place, while First Sergeant Abdulaziz Al-Kaabi from the United Arab Emirates came second, and First Sergeant Khaled Al-Rumaidhi, also from Kuwait, finished third. In the Men’s Team Operational Shooting (IPSC) competition, Kuwait won first place, followed by the UAE and Saudi Arabia in second and third places, respectively.
Kuwaiti shooters also dominated the women’s categories. First Lieutenant Aisha Al-Fulaikawi took first place in the Women’s Individual Pistol Shooting competition, with First Lieutenant Tahrir Al-Mardas securing second place, both representing Kuwait. Lieutenant Alia Al-Amriya from Oman earned third place. In the Women’s Team Pistol Shooting competition, Kuwait claimed first place once again, followed by Oman in second and the UAE in third.
Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Director General of the Kuwaiti Coast Guard and head of the tournament’s higher organizing committee, emphasized that the championship embodies the spirit of cooperation, brotherhood, and fair competition among GCC security agencies.
He highlighted that meticulous planning and coordination among Ministry of Interior sectors ensured that the tournament was held in a manner befitting Kuwait’s reputation and the professionalism of its police force.
Sheikh Mubarak praised the Kuwait Police Sports Federation for providing all necessary logistical and technical facilities to host the delegations, reflecting Kuwait’s commitment to authentic hospitality and sporting excellence.
He congratulated the winners and expressed hope that such events would continue to strengthen fraternal bonds and enhance the exchange of expertise among police forces across the Gulf region.
Major General Khalid bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, President of the Arab and Qatari Shooting Federations, commended Kuwait for the successful organization of the championship, noting its vital role in promoting sportsmanship among Gulf police personnel.
The winners were honored by Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Ali Al-Adwani, Major General Al-Attiyah, and Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, in a closing ceremony that celebrated both competitive excellence and regional unity.
