Liquor den busted in Abdali desert; six Asians in police custody
Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department raided a local liquor factory in a desert area in Abdali yesterday morning and arrested 6 Asians.
According to a security source, the factory was raided after CID men received a tip-off from police informer, following which the facility was put under surveillance and was raided by plainclothesmen, reports Al-Anba daily.
Security authorities have seized a large quantity raw material filled in barrels and equipment used in the distillation process, manufacturing tools and special equipment for producing liquor; in addition to bottles of booze ready for sale.
During interrogation, the bootleggers admitted to trading in liquor. The suspects and the seized items have been referred to the competent authorities.
