Interior Minister unveils smart security patrol equipped with advanced AI systems

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef reviewed the new smart security patrol developed by the Ministry’s Human Resources and Information Technology Sector, featuring state-of-the-art technical systems designed to boost the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of field operations.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said the initiative comes as part of its commitment to embracing technological advancements and strengthening the digital transformation of security operations. During the inspection, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef received a detailed briefing from Brigadier General Anwar Al-Yatama, Head of the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector, who explained the patrol’s advanced components and smart systems developed by specialized national experts in information technology and cybersecurity, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry highlighted that the patrol is equipped with an integrated suite of modern technologies, including smart mobile cameras linked to facial recognition and vehicle license plate detection systems, as well as a mobile fingerprint scanner for instant identity verification.

These devices are connected directly to the ministry’s central databases, allowing officers to identify wanted persons and vehicles in real time.

Additionally, the patrol incorporates artificial intelligence systems capable of real-time image processing and analysis, providing field officers with enhanced situational awareness and decision-making support, thereby improving the speed and accuracy of security responses.

Sheikh Al-Yousef emphasized the importance of leveraging modern technologies to support field security work and enhance the operational efficiency of police officers in fulfilling their national responsibilities. He commended the efforts of Kuwaiti technical teams in developing this innovative project, describing it as a significant step forward in the ministry’s technological transformation.

The statement affirmed that the Ministry of Interior remains committed to advancing its security systems by integrating cutting-edge technologies that strengthen public safety and contribute to the country’s overall security and stability.
