Interior Minister discusses with US expanding intelligence and security cooperation

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, accompanied by Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, visited the headquarters of the US National Intelligence Center in Washington, where he met with the Center’s Director, Tulsi Gabbard.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation and enhancing coordination in intelligence and security fields of mutual interest, in ways that support efforts to strengthen regional and international security and stability, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said Sheikh Fahad said Kuwait is proud of its strategic relations with the United States, expressing the country’s desire to benefit from American expertise and advanced training programs to enhance the readiness and efficiency of Kuwaiti security agencies.
He noted that such cooperation contributes positively to the security of both nations and the broader region.
Sheikh Fahad also expressed appreciation for the US National Intelligence Center’s commitment to developing cooperation with Kuwait, describing the meeting as a further step in the longstanding and close partnership between the two countries.
For her part, Gabbard welcomed Sheikh Fahad’s visit and underscored its significance in strengthening bilateral relations and broadening the horizons of joint cooperation.
She praised the solid strategic partnership between Kuwait and the United States across various areas of mutual work and collaboration.
