Yesterday, His Excellency Nasser Al-Motairi, Secretary General of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), met with His Excellency Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow.
During the meeting, both sides discussed current and prospective areas of cooperation between Russia and the ACD, emphasizing the importance of enhancing collaboration across various fields, including economic development, sports, and multilateral engagement.
Minister Lavrov commended the ACD as a promising and rapidly evolving platform for strengthening cooperation among Asian nations. He reaffirmed Russia’s strong commitment to supporting the organization’s initiatives and promoting its objectives in partnership with other member states.
The Russian Foreign Minister also highlighted Russia’s upcoming role as host of the first-ever ACD Ministerial Meeting on Sports, which will take place in Samara in November 2025, underscoring Moscow’s dedication to advancing cultural and people-to-people exchanges within the ACD framework.
The meeting took place as part of Secretary General Al-Motairi’s official visit to Moscow to participate in the Second International Symposium, reflecting the ongoing efforts to deepen Russia’s engagement with the ACD and expand avenues of cooperation across the Asian continent.
