Kuwait stresses importance of technical cooperation in human rights at UNHRC

The Permanent Delegation of Kuwait to the United Nations in Geneva reaffirmed on Friday the country’s strong commitment to technical cooperation and capacity-building in the field of human rights, describing them as essential tools that help states meet their obligations and enable developing countries to promote justice and development despite global challenges.
Diplomatic Attaché Rahaf Khuraibit delivered Kuwait’s statement during the discussion of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ report on technical assistance and capacity-building, held under item 10 of the agenda at the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Khuraibit underlined that technical assistance and capacity-building represent a cornerstone of international cooperation and stressed the importance of ensuring that these efforts remain free from politicization and selectivity.
She highlighted the progress achieved in integrating human rights into Kuwait’s national policies and in strengthening institutional frameworks, while pointing to the need to close funding gaps that could undermine the sustainability of these programs.
Kuwait also reiterated its commitment to constructive cooperation with all partners to enhance the scientific and practical impact of technical cooperation programs and to further develop their mechanisms in a way that delivers tangible and sustainable results.
