Kuwait, Saudi Arabia sign joint initiatives to boost cooperation

The two countries signed initiatives in culture, media, tourism, health, sports, and scientific and social research, highlighting the depth of their relations and leaderships’ commitment to tangible results.

The third session of the Coordination Committee on culture, media, tourism, and social development, under the Kuwaiti-Saudi Coordination Council, concluded with the signing of several joint initiatives aimed at strengthening historical ties and translating strategic goals into practical achievements, reported Al Anba newspaper.

The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, Assistant Minister of Information in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Muhaisen said the committee has served since its inception as an effective platform for advancing the strategic partnership, developing initiatives of quality, and broadening cooperation to meet the aspirations of both nations.

He noted that the session addressed and signed initiatives across culture, media, tourism, health, sports, and scientific and social research, reflecting the depth of Kuwaiti-Saudi relations and the commitment of their leaderships to achieving tangible outcomes.

Dr. Muhaisen also expressed hopes to launch innovative media and cultural projects that align with digital transformation and strengthen regional and international presence. He highlighted plans to develop joint tourism programs that showcase the natural and cultural heritage of both countries.

The committee, he added, places special emphasis on supporting youth, sports, and social initiatives that help build more productive and creative generations, while also promoting academic and research cooperation to establish a solid knowledge base for future challenges.

On the Kuwaiti side, the committee includes representatives from the Ministry of Information, the Public Authority for Sports, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the Public Authority for Youth, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and KUNA.
