Human rights commission safety campaign to benefit 40,000 home-delivery drivers

The National Human Rights Commission concluded its occupational safety campaign for home-delivery motorcycle drivers.
The event was held under the patronage and attendance of Minister Plenipotentiary Anas Al-Shaheen, who also heads the Commission’s tripartite committee.
Organized for the second consecutive year in cooperation with the General Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior and the Occupational Health Sector of the Ministry of Health, the initiative highlighted the awareness and rights of drivers and ensure their safety at work.
Al-Shaheen praised the campaign calling it a model of cooperation between national institutions and the private sector, highlighting the role of Jahez Company in supporting the initiative.
He stressed that such efforts reflect Kuwait’s firm commitment to rights of laborers and provide a fair, safe working environment that protects the dignity of workers.
The campaign, which reached around 40,000 drivers, led to greater compliance with safety measures and stronger company engagement.
Jahez supported the initiative by offering valuable awards, including cars, motorcycles, and cash prizes, as motivation for drivers to follow safety procedures.
Nasser Al-Qatami, Operations Director at Jahez, emphasized that protecting rights of drivers and safety is essential to the delivery sector’s success and affirmed the company’s commitment to future partnerships in promoting human rights.
The closing ceremony was attended by ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, and government officials, underscoring Kuwait’s prioritization of workers’ welfare and rights.
