Two expats arrested over insult to security personnel
Around 1:30 a.m., two soldiers patrolling Khaitan spotted a vehicle, stopped the expatriate driver for a traffic violation, and he reportedly declared, “I am a merchant and company manager, and I don’t care.”

An expatriate man and woman were detained at Khaitan Police Station on charges of insulting two security personnel, slander, and defamation. A security source confirmed that deportation is likely, noting that any court ruling against them would be accompanied by deportation rather than a mere referral, reported Al Anba newspaper.
The source explained that the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when two soldiers on patrol in the Khaitan area spotted a vehicle. The driver was stopped for a traffic violation, and it was discovered that he was an expatriate. While the security officer was issuing the ticket, the driver reportedly said, “I am a merchant and company manager, and I don’t care if you issue the ticket.”
The officer then requested the ID of the woman accompanying him, but she refused to provide it, reportedly saying, “Only Abu Khattain is left to inquire about me,” and insulted the officer. The vehicle was subsequently sealed, and a female police officer was called to the scene. Upon verifying her ID, it was confirmed that she was also an expatriate. Legal action is currently underway against both individuals.
