The Idukki Association Kuwait (IAK) hosted its Onam celebration under the theme “Onnichu Unnam Thiruvonam Idukkiyodoppam” at Zumrudaya Palace Hall, bringing together the Malayali community to showcase Kerala’s culture and traditions.
The program began with a welcome address by IAK General Secretary Jomon P. Jacob. Kuwaiti social activist Hadeel Al Bukrais inaugurated the event, and IAK President Binu Agnel Jose delivered the presidential address, highlighting the association’s goals and community work.
Guests who conveyed Onam greetings included Shibin Puthiyedath, Country Head of Joyalukkas; Diana Abushabab, Marketing Manager of Padra International; Mathew Varghese, General Manager of BEC Exchange; Onam Convener Shiju Babu; Women’s Forum Chairperson Bhavya Anoop; and Advisory Board Chairman Ebin Thomas.
The cultural segment featured performances by popular artist Renju Chalakudy and Kuwaiti singer Mubarak Al Rasheed, along with stage programs by IAK members and their families, adding vibrancy to the festivities.
A traditional Onam Sadhya was served to all attendees, strengthening the spirit of togetherness. The event was coordinated by the Executive Committee, Women’s Forum, and the Onam Committee. The celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks from IAK Treasurer Biju Jose.
