Yesterday (Friday) morning, the Asian International Culinary Arts (AICA) hosted a momentous ceremony to honor its students who recently completed various culinary workshops. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as the ‘graduates’ received certificates of completion, proudly awarded by ‘Masterchefs’ from the AICA Faculty of Trainers.

The students who participated in the workshops showcased their dedication and hard work in areas such as Breads and Pastries, Art of Cake Decorating, and Essentials of Bread Making. A particularly noteworthy aspect of the event was the investiture ceremony, which celebrated not just the students’ achievements but also the advancement of some of their peers within the AICA family.

Chefs who completed a series of four workshops symbolically transitioned into their new roles as assistant trainers by participating in a ceremonial change of their chef uniforms. This significant moment highlights the pathway for aspiring chefs within the program, allowing them to share their knowledge with others and contribute to the vibrant culinary community.

Adding to the exceptional nature of the event, one of the graduates took the oath and was officially welcomed as a Masterchef into the Faculty of Trainers. This moment was particularly inspiring, showcasing the opportunities for career growth and development available through AICA’s structured programs.

The presence of renowned Masterchefs JD Belleza and Mariel Macalalad, who delivered motivational speeches, further positioned the event as not just a graduation but a celebration of passion, commitment, and culinary excellence. Support from fellow Masterchefs Zhan Robles and Jennifer Medina was evident. A representative from one of its sponsors, the State of Kuwait Lady Eagles Club was present to award the certificates. Popular DJ Host Mon rendered a song to the delight of everyone.

As the ceremony progressed, one of the most delightful highlights was the food tasting session, where students showcased their baking talents by presenting the popular products they learned to create during their classes. The event became a feast of flavors, illustrating the skills acquired through the workshops—an impressive display of culinary craftsmanship that mesmerized the limited audience of graduates and selected guests.

Alongside the successful conclusion of the workshops, exciting announcements were made regarding the initiation of new culinary classes. Students and attendees learned about the upcoming Breads and Pastries course, an exploration into Japanese Cuisine, and one-day baking workshops that promise to enhance culinary skills even further. Additionally, AICA expanded its offerings with lifestyle workshops that include perfume making and flower arrangement, showcasing a holistic approach to training that goes beyond the kitchen.

The ceremony was not only a celebration of achievements but also a testament to the supportive environment fostered by Asian International Culinary Arts. It emphasized the importance of continuous learning, community, and passion—elements that are essential for anyone pursuing a career in the culinary arts. As graduates move forward, they carry with them the skills, confidence, and connections formed during their time at AICA, poised to make their mark in the culinary world.
