Municipality proposes site for chilled water plant to cool Mubarakiya Market

Kuwait Municipality’s Deputy Director General for Projects, Eng. Maysa Boushehri, has proposed the allocation of a site for a chilled water-cooling plant to provide air-conditioning for the historic Mubarakiya Market.

Three potential locations surrounding the market have been identified, each covering approximately 3,500 square meters.

The Urban Planning and Survey sectors have been tasked with reviewing the proposals, evaluating existing infrastructure, and setting the conditions for land allocation before the project can move forward.

The project seeks to enhance visitor comfort while preserving the market’s traditional and cultural heritage, combining modern amenities with the site’s historic charm.
